Early in September, Obama and the Democrats, who have carried forward some of the very crimes so hated under Bush, will gather at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC to affirm, bless, and continue US aggression around the world and unjust policies at home.

If you believed that wars of aggression, indefinite detention, torture, drone bombings, a presidential “kill list,” the outrageous suspension of core civil liberties, and the wars on immigrants and women were wrong under Bush, then they are just as wrong under Obama.

Crimes are crimes no matter who the President is. If we do not stand up and oppose these crimes, then we are giving our government and every subsequent U.S. administration, no matter what their party, the green light to act above the law and commit with impunity crimes against the people.

Re-electing Obama or electing Romney will not stop the crimes of our government. A visible mass resistance, however, from the people of this country can. History, especially from the 1960's, shows that decisive change comes only when people in our millions take a stand against injustice with such visible mass resistance that government leaders are forced to change direction. Being in Charlotte with a message that's clearly against the crimes of this government can help bring about that kind of mass resistance.

The people of Afghanistan and Pakistan know that no matter who wins the U.S. elections, their suffering will continue. They want the crimes against them to stop! And it's up to us to do just that.

World Can't Wait will be in Charlotte, NC September 1-6 to protest these crimes.
