On Dec. 16, 2010, a veterans-led civil resistance at the White House played an important role in bringing the anti-war movement from protest to resistance. Enduring hours of heavy snow, 131 activists lined the White House fence and were arrested. In Washington DC on March 19, 2011 there will be an even larger veterans-led civil resistance at the White House initiated by Veterans for Peace. People from all over the country are joining together for a Noon Rally at Lafayette Park, followed by a march on the White House where the veterans-led civil resistance will take place. This event is endorsed by many organizations. We are once again asking for your support. The website www.stopthesewars.org will contain more information about the March 19th action, as well as where to meet if you are interested in participating in the civil resistance to stop these wars. If you are interested in joining us once again or if it will be your first time, please get back to us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. If you are planning to come down to DC on Friday, there will be a musical and poetry event at busboys and poets from 6 pm to 8 pm, and then St. Stephen’s will be open for those who need housing at 9 pm.
