Former President George W. Bush will be in San Diego Thursday for a private meeting with the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The event at the U.S. Grant Hotel is by invitation only and not open to the public. Reporters from several media outlets including The San Diego Union-Tribune have been invited to view a portion of the event. Bush has been making media appearances to promote his new book, Decision Points, a memoir for which he was paid a reported $7 million.
The news release for Thursday's event doesn't mention the book. It states that Bush "will share his personal experiences behind major events that occurred during his presidency, including Sept. 11, Hurricane Katrina and the war in Iraq."
Those who plan to attend include leaders of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, including its president and CEO Ruben Barrales; as well as Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher, R-San Diego.
