Bradley Manning is the young soldier accused of leaking the military's footage that WikiLeaks released as the Collateral Murder video, which depicts 12 Iraqi civilians being gunned down by US forces from a helicopter. He is also suspected of leaking the large "Afghan War Diary" documents that WikiLeaks published this summer.
While it is not known if he is in fact the source for these releases, if he did, he is a hero. The truth of these unjust wars must be unearthed and people must resist and stop them. Everyone on the side of justice needs to be standing up for Manning and against the threats coming from the government and angry pro-war reactionaries.
This Quantico action (Manning is being held in isolation at the military base there) is an important part of the Bradley Manning Days of Action, September 16-19, and includes both a protest rally to visibly express our support for Bradley Manning as well as outreach to the military community there. Please join us!
World Can't Wait, IVAW, Code Pink, and other area activists will have a rally, and then flyering and dialogue with residents to inform and discuss Bradley Manning, possible procession.
Details: Carpooling will be organized, and the Amtrak also goes to Quantico. To sign up for training and/or carpooling, contact Pete Perry,
