Description

A book event/discussion with author Lawrence Rockwood.

Deployed to Haiti in 1994 as a US Army counterintelligence officer, Rockwood at once received reports of human rights abuses and murders of political prisoners at local jails. On filing formal complaints, Rockwood faced military court-martial. He contends that the US has abandoned its commitment to standards created at the Nuremberg trials, as reflected in the Abu Ghraib/Guantanamo prison abuse cases and illegal CIA detention centers. Join in discussing
his new book, Walking Away from Nuremberg: Just War and the Doctrine of Command Responsibility.

The venue is on the NE corner of Bleecker St, 6/to Bleecker, B/D/F/V to B'way-Lafayette, R/W to Prince).
