Description

On this 23rd anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan and 1 year since the Hamas attack on Israel, join our vigil in front of the NY Public Library (43rd Street and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan) against United States fueling war. From Afghanistan and Iraq to Ukraine and Gaza, U.S.-made bullets, bombs, death drones, and missiles fed by a seemingly endless stream of U.S. tax dollars have killed millions of innocent civilians.

In just the first 8 months of Israel's war on Gaza (Oct. 2023 - June 2024), the U.S. supplied Israel with 6,500 500-pound bombs, 14,000 one-ton bombs, 3,000 Hellfire precision-guided missiles, among other weapons with which to rain down on Gaza, all at the cost of 700 million in U.S. taxpayer dollars. And this continues with no end in sight, despite the death of 40,000 mostly civilian Palestinians.

Since the Feb. 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the United States has supplied almost $60 billion in military aid to Ukraine to keep a war-with-no-winners going but with as many as a million deaths and injuries on both sides.

Demand an immediate ceasefire and negotiations to end these wars.
