Unsure what the Torture Memos actually said, or why it matters?  Trying
to figure out where you stand on one of the most critical issues in our
Boalt community?  Wondering what the protesters in the hallway were
yelling about?  Or just want to know what you can do about torture,
anyway?

Come hear prominent lawyers and legal academics discuss the infamous
"Torture Memos" written by the Bush Administration's Office of Legal
Counsel, including Boalt Professor John Yoo.  These experts will examine
the memos' serious violations of constitutional law, international law,
and legal ethics/professional responsibility, consider some of the
claims made in their defense, and suggest ways to restore the rule of
law.

students dedicated to restoring respect for the norm against torture and

part of Ending Torture Month, a series of events that will take place at
Boalt from mid-October to mid-November.
