SAN FRANCISCO — President Obama left San Francisco Wednesday afternoon after a brief visit for two fundraising events in the city's Financial District.
Obama landed at San Francisco International Airport at 11:35 a.m. and his motorcade arrived around noon at One Market Plaza for a fundraiser for his re-election campaign...
....Tickets to the second event, the sold-out luncheon, started at $5,000 per person, according to the Obama campaign.
Protesters outside the luncheon included the group World Can't Wait, which criticized U.S. drone airstrikes overseas, as well as members of the environmental groups Greenpeace and the Center for Biological Diversity, one of whom dressed in a full polar bear suit to oppose plans to begin Arctic drilling this summer.
A protester from the group World Can’t Wait explains to a reporter why he’s against President Obama’s drone assassination program. This happened on June 6 outside the Merchants’ Exchange on California Street, where Obama was hosting a fundraiser in San Francisco.
